Profile: | IMS an Institute of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft which specialises in devices/technology, circuit design, systems and application technology, as well as CAD and testing. We have skills in the spheres of devices and technology, circuit design and systems and application technology, as well as CAD and testing. Consequently the range of services offered by the IMS covers the whole potential of microelectronics in its entire breadth. In this aspect, IMS holds a unique position among the microelectronics institutes in Germany. Approx. 250 competent specialists work at IMS in Duisburg with the very latest state-of-the-art-technology. Our know-how, which we make available to you, is constantly being expanded by our own research with the basic finance which makes approx. 20% of the institutes budget. Public joint project support with partners in science and the economy comprises 25% of the IMS budget. Our know-how is made available to our customers in direct research and development contracts, with a project volume of 55% of the budget. In the FP6 EMAC project, we helped develop magnetic memory integrated with CMOS devices using silicon. |
