With its multiple layer optical storage capacity it is an innovation that is targeted at the High Definition Home Video market. As an offshoot of the optical storage technology, NME has developed its own High Definition file format that can be used for HD media and playback. This technology has been adapted in the HD VMD Player that has now become synonymous with High Definition. The low cost red laser technology that NME has to offer the consumers as an alternative to the higher cost competition is the USP of HD VMD. The cost of an HD VMD Player starts from as low as 200$. The content too would be priced reasonably as the replication process is inexpensive almost on par with standard DVD. |
